crostini & missioni

i haven't posted all week, sorry followers! i was recovering from my trip still. no matter how relaxing my vacation is i still feel like i have to take like a week to get back to my regular routine. anywaysssss, saturday night the boyfriend had a show and i wasn't going. i took this opportunity to make some food that i know he won't eat, and i invited anjelica over for dinner.

probably my most favorite food blog ever is the kitchy kitchen (hiii have you seen the dolly cakes? OMG), and when i saw the summer crostini post i became obsessed with them! i decided that i was gonna make the fava bean & roasted cherry tomato crostini with burrata & basil. but then i was lazy and switched out the fava beans for peas. and i made it really easy by using frozen peas that i thawed.

this basil smelled so amazing!

i also made some sauteed chicken with a sage brown butter sauce and a peach, tomato & avocado salad that i had seen on cupcakes and cashmere, which i also became obsessed with.

everything was sooo good!  i mean amazing good.

cutting board/serving board from appalachian joinery

the flavors on the crostini went together so perfectly.  and burrata?  OMG so creamy and delicious.

who knew peaches could be so good in a salad.  i also used herloom tomatoes for some added color.

i like my fancy water with an extra fancy label

i hadn't planned on a dessert but somehow we ended up making chocolate chip cookies, which were yummy and delish.  i still wanna make the rest of the summer crostinis
