add some whimsy to your closet!

when i used to think of keds, i'd get visions of  the white leather "tennies" i wore as a kid.  not the cutest, most exciting shoes.  then a few months ago i saw  the blanket stripe keds for madewell (and got them for my birthday) and the tennies quickly became one of my favorite pairs of shoes for spring (see here and here).  i had really missed wearing tennies!  they are so comfortable and cute, now i want another pair (or two)!  so you can probably imagine how excited i was when i opened my email to find pictures of the new whimsy print champion keds!

personally, i love a good print with animals on it (not to be confused with animal print like leopard, snake, etc..)!  if dogs running around with a shoe in its mouth is a bit too whimsical for you, there are plenty of other prints, textures and colors to choose from!

blue stripe seersucker champion, orange eyelet champion, teal floral laceless champion, pink/calico champion

you can find all of these (and more, like stripes & bright solid colors) on keds.com.  i think the best part is that keds are totally affordable!  don't be surprised if a pair of the red happy pup champions show up on my feet sometime soon!  what do you think of the new keds?  will you be sporting some cute tennies this summer?

coming soon...

in my next outfit post - my new shoes!  i decided on the loafers.  i may end up getting some flats as well, cause i just can't have enough (brown) shoes.  i ended up getting these aunt rose loafers by bed:stu that i first saw on madewell.  i did a little googling and found them on endless, so i could get that free shipping and all.  i'm very resourceful with google.  seriously, its like my solution to everything - google it!

i've already worn them twice and i can tell you now that i am going to wear them to death.  they are comfy and the leather is so soft.  then i went to free people yesterday and bought some cute floral socks to wear with them.  so get used to these babies, as they will be popping up in quite a few outfits posts!

girly or manly?

i've been on the hunt for a tan or brown flat shoe for the last few weeks but can't decide between the manly (when i was little i said they were man shoes) loafer or the girly ballet flat.

5. banana republic dee classic penny loafer

1. asos lychee ballerina flat

my top two contenders are the bass waylon and the tory burch eddie flat.  although i'm leaning more towards the bass just because of the price.  tell me your thoughts on the loafer vs. the ballet flat, which do you like better?

one of each please!! jeffrey campbell spring/summer 2011

yesterday i saw the jeffrey campbell s/s 2011 lookbook and its pretty amazing.  i want everything!  i couldn't even decide on which ones i would take if my life depended on it.  seriously.

and so here are my favorites:

tree in nude leather
be well in black perforated suede
brisbane low in pink leather
foxy-wood in pink suede
lita-fab in red blue tapestry
pixie in nude suede
register in pink leather
register in white patent
saturn in black leather and black suede
so crazy in white black leather
frankie in nude leather, cambria in tan natural, cashy in nude and navy leather

of course like every other girl out there, i'm lusting after some litas - i just can't decide if i  should get them.  they are sooo tall and i'm a little scared.

the entire color palette of this collection is amazing with the pink, nude and tans.  perfect for spring and summer.  i love, love, LOVE all the pink going on in this collection - the brisbane low, the register, the foxy wood - i need some!

you can download the entire s/s 2011 lookbook here.  jeffrey campbell doesn't have an e-commerce site (and if they ever get one it better be through a company in compton!), but you can purchase the shoes from a couple of different online retailers.  solestruck seems to have the best selection.  now i just have to decide which ones i want....
