i've been on the hunt for a tan or brown flat shoe for the last few weeks but can't decide between the manly (when i was little i said they were man shoes) loafer or the girly ballet flat.

my top two contenders are the bass waylon and the tory burch eddie flat. although i'm leaning more towards the bass just because of the price. tell me your thoughts on the loafer vs. the ballet flat, which do you like better?

Cute post! While I am voting for the girly selection, I did see a pair of cute patent leather "manly" loafers from J.Crew the other day in their new catalog... hmmmm...
If you're looking for a neutral flat those Tori Burch ones might get the most wear. As for the loafers, I particularly like the ASOS one. A girlfriend bought the "highs and loafers" shoe at a boutique in SF, they are super cute and cheap, but super campy.

I'm really loving masculine loafers too! I think I'd pick those over flats, which seem a bit passe. I think loafers are def a bit edgier and more chic if done properly.

i like the first three "manly" loafers. they look girly enough, but are so much less common than regular ol' flats. in fact, i think i may just have to buy myself a pair! ha. thanks for the recommendations.

I have a VERY girlie style but I love loafers. They just go with everything and tone down some of my frilly blouses and polka dot shirts.
