winner, winner! (j.w. hulme custom legacy bag)

a while ago i made this post asking you all to vote for me in the j.w. hulme create your own legacy contest on facebook - to win a custom mini legacy - and guess what! i won! i was so excited that i actually won something! i don't think i've won anything since i was in the 3rd grade when i won a raffle for a cake we made in the class! shortly after i found out that i won, j.w. hulme sent me a little package of swatches so i could choose the leather, lining and hardware color.

after selecting the swatches i wanted - red leather, plaid lining & gold hardware - i sent back the swatches.  a few months later i received bigger package in the mail, j.w. hulme had upgraded the prize from the mini legacy to the full size legacy!  amazing!

the bag is gorgeous, as i had expected!  the quality of j.w. hulme products is amazing!  i've always been a big fan of american heritage brands, so of course j.w. hulme is at the top of my list!  i also wanted to say thank you to all the people who voted for me!  winning and having the support of so many people is just as good a prize as the actual bag!

computer cases get cute

about 2 years ago some of the keys on my old sony viao laptop stopped working, so i just kinda gave up on the computer.  it was soooooo slow, and anyway the bf has 2 apple desktops and a laptop so i wasn't exactly computer-less, but it was about time i get my own computer... somehow i ended up with a macbook pro.  now that i have this new fancy computer i need to get some kind of case to protect it, hence the search for the cutest computer case i can find begins.

alexander mcqueen skull print laptop case, $395 net-a-porter,  diane von furstenburg mariela printed laptop case, $135 net-a-porter
marc by marc jacobs printed laptop case, $80 net-a-porter, rebecca minkoff virginia computer case, $255 shopbop.

j.w. hulme co slim portfolio briefcase, $450 j.w. hulme, want l.e.v. kansai 13" computer portfolio, $475 la garconne, tory burch audra leather laptop case, $250 nordstrom.
tory burch tierney matte nylon laptop case, $100 bloomingdales, tumi for opening ceremony 26125 t-pass soft laptop case,
$175 opening ceremony, marc by marc jacobs pretty nylon computer commuter, $88 nordstrom.
my first choice is the j.w. hulme, but its a little expensive (okay, a lot) for a computer case.  especially since i won't be taking it that many places.  i most likely will end up getting the marc by marc jacobs printed laptop sleeve.  its a good price, cute, and i will be able to throw it in to any bag im taking with me.

complementary embossing, just so you know its mine!

i decided on the legacy shoulder handbag in the dark brown american heritage leather. its a great classic! each bag is made per order, which makes me feel really special because this bag was made just for me! the leather is amazing - soft and beautiful. i am sooo in loveeee and can't wait to break it in, i know it will only look better with age/use. thanks mom!

rag & bone fall accessories

i love love love the accessories from rag & bone this season. so many awesome scarves, mittens, hats, bags and shoes! two of my favorite pieces are the everest overnight bag and the floppy brim fedora.

everest overnight bag

the bag is wool with leather trim and comes in a beautiful olive color, perfect for the fall weekend travel plans.

floppy brim fedora in black mix

the floppy brim fedora is made from felted wool and comes in three different colors, black mix (shown), medium brown mix and olive mix. its a great style that carries over through the seasons. the brown would be a great color for fall to wear with the camel coats that are so big right now.

rag & bone recently launched their e-com site, and actually just last night (early this AM??) they added their women's collection (previously only had the jean/shirt/knit collection) and their men's collection. i am dying for the leigh jacket in olive! i'm really happy with how the collection shoots went and hopefully my hard work (probably about a week of work, including prep time) pays off!

the legacy

so i'm going to a wedding this weekend and having a major fashion crisis as to what to wear, so in an effort to manage the crisis i headed over to the americana to find something to wear. i went to barney's co-op first, and as soon as i walked in i was in love.

j.w. hulme co. started in 1905 making tents for world war i and have evolved into a luggage and sporting accessories manufacturing company. i am lusting after the legacy handbag, and debating between the heritage leather and buckston leather.

i didn't find anything to wear to the wedding, but but i did find my soul mate in a purse. the legacy handbag is def going on the top of my list of things to get!
