lately it seems there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done, and so this blog suffers for it.  food (making & eating it) will take precedence over editing photos.  and then sleep comes next.  this week will not be so crazy, thankfully.

the past few weekends have been like sample sale madness!  there were two sales two weekends in a row that i went too.  i picked up this cute joie pineapple printed tank from the equipment, current/elliott and joie sale.  the printed tank combined with the chambray skirt and simple flat sandals give the look a kind of vintage feel, don't you think? 

over(alls) it.

wearing overalls can be scary, when you aren't five years old.  its easy to end up looking like a hillbilly if you wear the wrong shirt and shoes.  i decided to wear my short overalls with a blazer and some wedges.  very grown up and not hillbilly at all, if i do say so myself!

i think i pulled this off pretty well.  i didn't get called a hillbilly once, so i guess i was doing something right.  i know i've been wearing this blazer waaaaay too much lately.  but its one of two jackets that i have that work for spring/summer - and hi this is real life!  in real life you wear the same thing.  a lot.  anyway, what are your thoughts on overalls?  do you wear them?

i wanna be formal

but i'm here to party.  except i'm not going to a party.  i'm just going to work, and this is what i wore.  this outfit reminds me of that quote about tuxedo t-shirts from talladega nights - trying to be formal (the blazer and the pumps), but really not formal at all (the tee and slouchy skinny jeans).

i didn't last in the shoes all day.  i haven't worn shoes like this since the prom and haven't gotten my walking on toothpick legs back.  also - my first time wearing the sock bun (in public).  i like it. 

easter sunday

i wasn't raised with any kind of religion and i don't know what exactly easter is celebrating. for me it's mostly just an excuse for family to get together and eat too much good food. waaaaay too much good food. like i'm still full too much food.

we had a very, very warm weekend so i was finally able to wear my free people dress that my mom gave me for my birthday!  hope you all had a good weekend/easter/passover!

p.s. if you are wondering what is on the top of my head, its a tiny flower from the avocado tree i was sitting under.  

mint+spots

i wore this outfit with the intention of going to an event after work on thursday night, however... by the time work was over i was exhausted (mostly cause i went to see star wars in 3d on wednesday night. yup, i did.) and decided to just go home and relax. i'll find some other event to wear it too, i'm sure!

its starting to really feel like spring here in L.A., i was actually a little warm in this outfit!  also, its barely noticeable but i got a hair cut!  i think it was like two inches  it feels a lot shorter than it looks.  now i have to decide if i should stick with ombre or grow it out and go all natural.  any thoughts?  happy friday!
