with the election going on this week i almost forgot, but i want to let you all know that starting tomorrow (thats friday, november 9th) through saturday (november 10th) is the splendid/ella moss sample sale!  see flyer & more info:

yes, its that time of year again!  time for the splendid/ella moss sample sale!

this is the perfect sale to stock up on cute dresses and tops for summer!  also great time to pick up some stuff for the boyfriend, or kids... if you have them or know some!  the sale will be held next friday, june 8th and saturday, june 9th, from 9am to 4pm each day at the cooper building (860 s. los angeles st, 90014) on the 11th floor.

if you wondering why my legs are bare in march (please ignore my pale-ness, i know i need a tan) its because it was 80 degrees. yes, it was actually 80 degrees in march. i think this is the warmest birthday i've ever had!   

transitioning to spring

this weekend bf and i went down to palm springs (well technically its rancho mirage, close enough to palm springs) to visit with his grandparents, lay by the pool and have a mini vacation.  i decided to debut my new mint jeans for dinner saturday night!  i am soo glad i bought them, such a great piece to transition to spring!  i already have quite a few outfits with these jeans in mind!

minty fresh (spring '12 color obsession)

unless you've been living under a rock, you probably have heard that pastels are hot for spring '12.  yay!  pastels!  i'm much more of a pastel girl than a neon girl.  don't get me wrong, i love a little neon on my nails, but i don't think i could pull of a pair of neon yellow or green skinnies!  one of my favorite pastel colors for the spring season - mint green.  honestly, i'm not sure why its call mint as the actual leaf of the mint plant is not this color.  i suppose mint toothpaste is this color.  but really, who wants to wear something that is toothpaste green?  so i've rounded up a few of my favorite mint colored spring '12 pieces:

i saw this sweater a while back at letters from LA, and kinda became obsessed with it.  only splendid didn't have it on their site in this color so i was super bummed that i couldn't get it with my discount.  but then - it was like the universe wanted me to have it - i snagged the last one at letters from LA!  for 70% off!!  practically a steal!!

time really flies! its almost time again for the splendid/ella moss holiday warehouse sale! 

the sale will take place once again at the cooper building in downtown los angeles on november 18th and 19th, from 9am-4pm.  splendid, ella moss, splendid mills, splendid and ella moss girl and littles (baby clothes) will all be available, annnnnnd the sale is restocked each day!  amazing!  start your holiday shopping early at the sale!

this warehouse sale is my other favorite sale to shop.  i love splendid for the great basics - tanks, tees, & leggings!  always so soft and comfy!  ella moss always has the best dresses, and i love, love, LOVE the knits!  i've worn quite a bit of both brands on the blog... many times.  what's even better about this sale is that there is something for everyone!  tired of your boyfriend's hole-y t-shirts (i know i am!)? splendid mills is your answer!  trying to find the perfect gift for the tween in your life?  ella moss girl and splendid girl have the cutest pieces!  and of course, little ella and splendid littles have the cutest of the cute!  i mean how can something not be cute when its so tiny??

can you tell i'm excited for this sale?  i am already making a mental list!   

gone phishing

or music monday.  except its actually tuesday now, and almost wednesday!  boyfriend and i went to the hollywood bowl to see phish on monday night.

i'll admit, i'm not a huge phish fan (boyfriend is) but i do enjoy the music so i'm not against going to see them with the boyfriend.  although i would have been nice if the concert was not on a week night.  seriously, all the traffic getting there has me wondering why i still live in LA.  i guess cause i've never lived anywhere else.  a few tips/things i learned a few things from this event:

1. plan at least 3 hours to get there.  we gave ourselves 2.5 hours and it is not enough to do the park and ride.

2. a parking lot that cost $10 two years ago costs $30 during a phish show. 

3. wear comfortable shoes for walking.

4. you can get your digital slr into the hollywood bowl even if they say no at security, tell them the honest truth - my phone has zoom better than the slr. 

5. coors light is terrible.

6. bring your own food.  seriously, the selection at the bowl is worse than a sports arena. 

7. take pictures of outfit before getting to the venue, otherwise its really, really, really crowded.

the music was good, and i had a good time (minus the foot cramp from walking).  a mandatory end to a night at the hollywood bowl is the bacon wrapped hot dog from a cart on the street.  so good!  we left a bit early since we had work the next day, but its okay cause we are going to see phish again.  on friday.  at outside lands in san francisco.  seriously though, i'm more excited for the food!
