blending in (camo pants)

blogging:  hard when i'm not inspired. and also when i feel bored with my closet. but then i did some shopping (also have A LOT of stuff to get rid of) and feel a bit more like blogging.  i found out about a rag&bone/jean sale in LA.  it was like... amazing.  and so now i have some new stuff to blog about!  i picked up these camo pants which i'd had my eye on for awhile (really just waiting for them to go on sale & hoping my size would still be available).  i guess i got lucky, because i found them at the sale!  i love the pixelated camouflage print - something different from the rest of the camo print out right now.  in other news - i've jumped on the denim vest train.  and i'm obsessed with my dolce vita shoes.

over(alls) it.

wearing overalls can be scary, when you aren't five years old.  its easy to end up looking like a hillbilly if you wear the wrong shirt and shoes.  i decided to wear my short overalls with a blazer and some wedges.  very grown up and not hillbilly at all, if i do say so myself!

i think i pulled this off pretty well.  i didn't get called a hillbilly once, so i guess i was doing something right.  i know i've been wearing this blazer waaaaay too much lately.  but its one of two jackets that i have that work for spring/summer - and hi this is real life!  in real life you wear the same thing.  a lot.  anyway, what are your thoughts on overalls?  do you wear them?

a few days ago we had such NICE weather. then this storm hit and its been cold! gross. i want to wear a dress or skirt without tights please! i wore this outfit to a fashion show last friday.  the show was.. pretty ridic.  if i wanted to go to a club i'd go to one.  but i don't want to go to a club.  so we left early.

so even though the event was a bad idea, but my outfit was a good one!  half way through this hectic week, yay!

before christmas

hope everyone had a good holiday weekend! i'm working this week, although i know many people get this week off (lucky!). this outfit is from the other day - before christmas - so i thought the pants were sorta festive. i do love that i bought these red jbrand jeans during the summer and can still wear them during the winter!

just a few more days left in 2011, i can hardly believe how fast the year has gone by!  i still am not 100% sure of my new years eve plans, but i kinda just want to stay home & make a pizza!  what are your nye plans?

rachel pally sample sale finds!

i'm bad blogger - i haven't posted in so long!  life has been way to busy... and not in the i have stuff to blog about busy. 

anyway, i went to the rachel pally sample sale this past saturday with my little sister.  such a good selection this time around, and with such great prices it makes it was kinda hard to choose! i literally had my arms full with stuff to try on, as did my sister.  i ended up with three great pieces for spring/summer - the bandage skirt in black garden print, the long full skirt in haze & the bess bandeau in cayenne stripe.

rachel was so sweet to give me the bandeau and bandage skirt as a gift!  seriously one of my favorite clients!  thanks rachel!  i'll be shooting more rachel pally pieces next week, and there are some seriously cute things.  check the site for new stuff soon! 

lafw 2011: ina soltani

blogging from san antonio, texas guys!  spending a few days with my oldest friends (from oilcloth international) and finally got my last lafw post together during my flight yesterday!

last minute i got an invite to ina soltani's runway show at vibiana in dtla hosted by style fashion week la.  the 8pm show start time had me rushing home from work, i scrounging together an outfit and inhaling my dinner to make it downtown in time.

we grabbed some yummy drinks and settled down to wait for the show, which ended up not starting till 9.  luckily i had solved my camera problem so i was able to take lots of photos:

love the gold gown, the burgundy gown and the mustard dress!  if only i had somewhere to wear such gorgeous dresses!  i definitely ended my lafw with a great show!  can't wait for the next lafw!
